Walk With
Christ Devotional
The
book of Acts - Chapter 2
Acts 2:1 On the day of Pentecost the apostles
were all gathered together in a room 2:2 and suddenly there came a loud noise
from heaven like a rushing wind and it filled the whole house 2:3 and a flame
appeared and separated it self and came to rest on each one of them 2:4 and the
Holy Spirit filled each one of them and they began to speak in other tongues as
the Spirit enabled them.
Acts 2:5 Now because it was Pentecost and a holiday there were Jews in Jerusalem
from all over the world. 2:6 And when the sound was heard the people gathered
around to see what was going on and were bewildered because each one could hear
his own language. 2:7 and they were amazed and asked "Why are not all these
men Galileans?" 2:8 how is it that we can each understand them in our own
language?
I am omitting 2:9-10 because it lists all the different language's spoken and
heard.
2:11 The people said we hear them declaring the mighty deeds of God in our own
language 2:12 and all were amazed and perplexed asking one another what dose
this mean?

Acts 2:14 then Peter stood up with the Eleven and
told the crowd, fellow Jews and all that live in Jerusalem, 2:15 these men aren't
drunk it's only 9 in the morning. 2:16 this is what was spoken of by the prophet
Joel, (Joel 2:28-32)
2:17 AND IT SHALL BE IN THE LAST DAYS; GOD SAYS, 'THAT I SHALL POUR FORTH OF MY
SPIRIT UPON ALL MANKIND; AND YOUR SONS AND YOUR DAUGHTERS SHALL PROPHESY, AND
YOUR YOUNG MEN SHALL SEE VISIONS AND YOUR OLD MEN SHALL DREAM DREAMS;
2:18 EVEN UPON MY BOND SLAVES, BOTH MEN AND WOMAN, I WILL POUR FORTH OF MY
SPIRIT AND THEY SHALL PROPHESY.
2:19 AND I WILL GRANT WONDERS IN THE SKY ABOVE, AND SIGNS ON THE EARTH BENEATH,
BLOOD, AND FIRE, AND VAPOR OF SMOKE.
2:20 THE SUN SHALL BE TURNED INTO DARKNESS, AND THE MOON INTO BLOOD, BEFORE THE
GREAT AND GLORIOUS DAY OF THE LORD SHALL COME.
2:20 AND IT SHALL BE , THAT EVERYONE WHO CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE
SAVED.'
All through the New Testament God tells us ,through Jesus Christ, His plan for
us if we can accept it. He tells us how to walk beside Christ, as a brother or
sister, He gives us precise
instructions.

Acts
2:22-24 (Taken from the NIV Student Bible)
22 Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God
to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as
you yourselves know. 23 This man was handed over to you by God's set purpose and
foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing
him to the cross. 24 But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the
agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him .
Acts 2:25-28 ( King James Bible)
25 For David said of Him.
I WAS ALWAYS BEHOLDING THE LORD IN MY PRESENCE;
FOR HE IS AT MY RIGHT HAND, THAT I MAY NOT BE SHAKEN.
26 THEREFORE MY HEART WAS GLAD AND MY TONGUE EXULTED;
MOREOVER MY FLESH ALSO WILL ABIDE IN HOPE;
27 BECAUSE THOU WILT NOT ABANDON MY SOUL TO HADES,
NOR ALLOW THY HOLY ONE TO UNDERGO DECAY.
28 THOU HAST MADE KNOWN TO ME THE WAYS OF LIFE;
THOU WILT MAKE ME FULL OF GLADNESS WITH THY PRESENCE.
David foretold this in Psalms 16:8-11, this psalm is the foretelling of Jesus
Christ.

Acts 2:29, Peter said that he could confidently
tell them that David died and was buried and was still in his tomb to this day.
2:30, Because David was a prophet, he knew that God had promised to set one of
his descendents on His Throne,
2:31, David looked ahead and, saw the resurrection of Christ, that Christ would
not be left in Hades nor rot in the grave.
2:32, So Jesus was raised up by God, and we all saw it.
2:33, Jesus was seated on the right hand of God and received the promised Holy
Spirit and He poured out what you now see and hear,
2:34 for David didn't ascend to heaven, yet he said:
' THE LORD SAID TO MY LORD,
" SIT ON MY RIGHT HAND,
2:35, UNTIL I MAKE THINE ENEMIES A
FOOTSTOOL FOR THY FEET." '
2:36 therefore let all Israel know: That God has made Jesus, whom you crucified,
both Lord and Christ.
I don't know about you, but if I had been told all this and heard someone
speaking in my language and that I knew everyone was also hearing it in theirs,
I would have been scared to death, that such a wicked thing had been done.

Repent and be baptized
Acts 2:37, When the crowd heard Peters words they were cut to the heart and
asked Peter and the apostles "Brothers what shall we do?" 2:38, and
Peter told them repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the
forgiveness of your sins and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
2:39 "The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off
- for all whom the Lord our God shall call."
2:40, and Peter warned them and pleaded with them " Save yourselves from
this corrupt generation." Those who accepted his message were baptized and
about 3 thousand were added to their no. that day.
We can look back on Peters time and think it was really a time of innocence,
there was not as many people or the technology for the evil we see today. In
Peters time peoples lives were centered around their religion, as our lives are
so fast paced that we lose sight of what is Important, God first then family and
our family of other christens weather they are church or friends, personal or
computer.
It is possible to love someone in Christ without seeing them in person all you have
to do is fellowship with them to know them.
That's one of the reasons the prayer and chat room is so important, it is like
going to church,. You learn what is going on in each others lives and how their families
are doing. We talk to one another about what is going on in our lives before and
after prayer.

Acts 2:41 Those that had received
Peters word were baptized and they amounted to about 3000 souls.
2:42 And they continually listened to the apostles teaching and fellowshipped
with the breaking of bread and prayer.
2:43 Everyone was in awe at the wonders and signs that were being done by the
apostles.
2:44 and those that believed were all together and had all things in common.
2:45 they began selling their possessions and sharing them with whoever had
need.
2:46 and day by day still worshiping in the temple and eating from house to
house sharing meals with gladness
2:27 praising God. And the Lord was adding to their numbers, those that were
saved every day.
From the NIV Student Bible
Acts records a series of stages through which the Christian church became a
separate movement. At this point, the followers of Jesus were still keeping the
pattern of traditional Jewish worship :prayers in the temple at 9a.m., 3pm and
sunset. (3:1) Yet this paragraph shows them also developing a new form of "
House Churches" based on communal sharing and fellowship.
Have you ever seen someone changed overnight by an encounter with Christ?
MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND THE HOLY SPIRIT FLOOD YOU WITH GRACE.
