Walk With
Christ Devotional - Acts 7
In Acts 7:1-60, Stephen
gives a speech to the Sanhedrin, ( the temple court, as Stephen is being charged
with blasphemy,) at the beginning of the speech, Stephen recites the deeds of
the prophets and their demise's at the hands of their fathers.
He tells them that they are stiff-necked and have uncircumcised hearts and ears,
just like their fathers before them, and that they always resist the Holy
Spirit. That they were given the law, but they didn't obey it.
They were so angry at Stephen that they grabbed him and took him outside the
city and stoned him to death Stephen asked Jesus to receive his spirit and not
to hold this sin against them.
We are very lucky in our county , so far, we can worship as we please in a
church of our choice. In many countries this is not true ,such as Iran, Algeria,
Sudan, and China. But i see a time coming when this might not be true in our
country, satan is moving closer to his goal all the time. First the schools
started teaching that children should go to their friends for counseling, and to
their teachers with their troubles instead of their pastors or their parents.
Now each school has a secular counselor on its staff. And it is against the law
to mention Christ in schools.
Some want to remove all mention of Christ and scenes of worship from public view
or hearing. How long will it be before we will be told we can't teach our
children about Christ at all, under the guise that we are infringing on their
right to choose for them selves weather they believe or not, but how can you
make a choice uninformed?, but that is what is coming , because we are not
standing up for Christ.
We can no longer sit on the fence , we must either get off on one side or the
other, as time is short and if we don't move God in His judgment will make the choice
for us. We will find our selves wandering in a wilderness, like the Israelites
did, for their disobedience.
Stephen was the first one of Christ's disciples to be killed for Him,
and speaking out for Christ, but he wasn't the last. Will you be ready when
Christ comes? or will you still be on the fence?
MAY GOD BE WITH YOU AND
THE HOLY SPIRIT BE STRONG IN YOU.
My Prayer for You this
day
Holy, holy, holy
Lord God Almighty
Heaven and earth are
full of Your Glory
I praise You God
I acknowledge You to be my Lord
And with all the earth
I warship You
Father everlasting
Amen
