Walk With Christ Devotional - Acts Chapter 4

I have prayed about this and so I have gone back to writing the way I was in the beginning, as these are my thoughts on the Word of God, not meant to quote the Bible. I'm not a scholar, just a woman that loves Gods Word. All the chapters I write on you need to read for yourselves.
Gods word is our sword and you can't wield a sword unless you know how , so you need to read and practice wielding your sword.

Acts 4:1-12
Peter and John were speaking to the people and the guards in the temple when the Sadducees came and listened to what they were saying. They were very disturbed because Peter was telling the people about the resurrection of Jesus and about salvation and the Holy Spirit . So the priests arrested them and put them in jail overnight.
The next day all the priests gathered and because they couldn't find anything to charge them with, threatened them and told them not to teach about Jesus or about the Holy Spirit.
Peter told them it was impossible not to speak about what they had witnessed, as the man that was healed was with them, and all the people had been there and saw it, the priests had to let them go.
In 4:12 Peter says it all " And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name, under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved."
Of course Peter was speaking of Jesus Christ, Our Savior.
The coalition arrayed against Peter and John resembled the same group that had arrested Jesus in the garden.
The priests were working hand and hand with the Roman rulers, and the reports of Jesus resurrection greatly alarmed the Sadducees, since they had denied it would ever happen.

MAY GOD HOLD YOUR HAND IN THIS PARALESS TIME AND BLESS YOU.
Please read your Bible as that is the only way you can know Gods word.

Acts 4:13, When the priests saw the courage of Peter and John and realized they were unschooled ordinary men' they were astonished. But the man that had been healed was standing with them, so they ordered them not to speak or teach about Christ and the resurrection. After conferring for a while they told them to go.
4:23, Peter and John went back to there own people and told them all about what had happened, and after word all the people raised their voices in prayer.
Sovereign Lord you made the heaven and earth and the sea, and everything in them. You spoke by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of your servant David:
Why do the nations rage
and the peoples plot in vain?
The Kings of the earth take
their stand and the rulers gather
together against the Lord and against His Christ.
4:27, Herod and Pontius Pilate and many of the other leaders of the city meet to plot against Jesus. Now consider their threats, and enable your servants to speak boldly and stretch out your hand and perform healings and miracles, through the name of Jesus Christ. After they prayed they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke out boldly for Christ.
4:32 They all sold property and gave the money to the apostles to help support everyone so none went without what ever they needed. All the while the apostles kept preaching and teaching about Christ.
Again and again the Holy Spirit changes people, the Spirit gives them the courage to speak out to everyone about Christ and His resurrection and the salvation He offers.
So we come to the point of sharing. The gift we give to Christ each year on his birthday is a donation to our favorite charity, the Salvation Army, Fishers and Loaves or one of the other ones that provide for the poor at this time of year.
We also bye a toy once a mo. for our gift box for these children or a nice piece of clothing in varies sizes. All this is donated at Christmas in the name of Jesus Christ.
I'm not telling you this to blow my families horn , I'm telling you this to let you know how you can give even if you have a very limited amount of income as we do. Some mo. we bye something very nice some mo. we can only afford stocking stuffers from the Dollar store.

MAY GOD BE WITH YOU AND THE HOLY SPIRIT GIVE YOU COURAGE AND COMFORT
