Reference & Study Tools

The most valuable tool you could ever have is at Bible Gateway. From here you can look up any passage of the Bible, by Book and verse, by keyword search and in any version of the Bible you wish.  Give them a try at Bible Gateway!

  • Amazing Bible Interesting site with many lists and various bits of information about the Bible, such as a list of ALL the prophecies in the Bible (and when they were or will be fulfilled), verse by verse!

  • Beliefnet.com Although this site covers Christianity, it also has sections for most of the major world religions so it would be good for study and comparison more than faith-building, in my opinion. Good info, though.

  • Bible Atlas Online Quality, color printable maps for Biblical places at various times in history. Part of a site (homepage) which offers the texts of the Hebrew Bible, Apocrypha, Quran, and New Testament as well.

  • Bible Translation Comparison Descriptions, history and sample passages of the various English Bible translations.

  • Bibles in Other Languages Offers links to online Bibles in nearly 200 languages. Blue Letter Bible All kinds of wonderful resources for study and growing in Christ.

  • Christian Classics Ethereal Library This site has a wonderful collection of classic writings from great Christians like The Venerable St. Bede, John Bunyan, G.K. Chesterton, Martin Luther and many more. Check out the World Wide Encyclopedia of Christianity as well.

  • Christian Resource Institute Various resources and studies about Biblical and Church topics.

  • Jesus in Every Book of the Bible This lists some of the names given to Christ throughout the Bible, by book.

  • Maps & Diagrams From the makers of the "Jesus" film, some useful maps.

  • Online Texts Relating to the Bible This site contains links to many texts which are NOT Christian, but would be good for study. Gnostic Gospels, other religious texts, etc. Links under "Nag Hammadi" are helpful for those investigating The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown.

  • Printable Bible Timeline Great 2-page Bible timeline! Very helpful.

  • Who is Jesus?  An interactive Journey

  • SETTING CAPTIVES FREE!
Providing Christ-centered Hope and Freedom to Christians!

I personally have a friend who was able to stop her cravings for sweets and lose weight through this website.  You lose weight because you involve God and do your diet to Glorify Him!  She said, "It's the easiest diet I've ever been on.  When you set out with a commitment to do it [the diet] for God's glory, you can't fail!
Another friend states: "I never thought I'd be able to quit smoking!  I'd quit several times but always started again.  Setting Captives Free changed me into a non-smoker!  Through their courses and one on one contact with a support person, AND adding God to the equation, it's impossible to fail!
Setting Captives Free provides courses in many areas.  Check them out!

  • Jesus in 73 Books of the Bible Listing of references to Christ in the books of the Bible! Very neat.

  • Jesus Christ and His Church in Each Book of the Bible Wonderful site which gives overviews of each book of the Bible, prophecies about Christ and much more like a Bible Art Gallery. (*Note: This site is huge and I have not evaluated the doctrine on all the pages...I'll leave that up to you!)
