When we decided to draw up guidelines for
prayer time, the intention wasn’t to tell us “how” to pray. They
were suggestions to keep us focused on the many reasons 'Christ In Pogo came to
be. Those being, the Ministry of 'Christ In Pogo', it's members and their
prayer requests and to help us be guided to those in Pogo who aren't Christians
or have backslidden and to grant us wisdom in how to reach them. Current events
including natural catastrophes, our soldiers, and missionaries are also prayed
for. This doesn't mean that if a person is led by the Holy Spirit to pray
for a different purpose, they are restrained.
We are often found speaking praises to our
Heavenly Father, one after the other and His presence is felt! We are
indeed blessed during prayer time!
If anyone has been offended by the guidelines,
we apologize as this was far from our intention. Prayer is God's appointed
way of doing God's work. The guidelines are not rules or commandments. We
are not obligated to follow them if God prompts us differently through the Holy
Spirit.
Jesus set the perfect example of prayer.
Although His day was filled from morning to night with many pressures and
responsibilities – He made prayer a top priority.
Praising and worshiping God with other
believers is one of the most powerful and significant things we can do in our
lives. Worship through prayer causes bondages to be broken, and it makes
the way for wonderful changes in us that might not ever happen otherwise.
God wants us to praise Him together with other believers. "I will
declare Your name to My brethren; in the midst of the assembly I will sing
praise to You." ~ Hebrews 2:12
