Just Say No!...To God?

I can see the looks on your faces as you read the title to this topic,  you're thinking.....she's flipped her blonde wig.  Say "NO" to God?

Don't we all?

At some point and time in our life don't we whine, avoid, rebel,  in essence.....say no to God?

Does what God lead us to do mean we will have to sacrifice something? Our time?  money? pride? or our hearts?
From the beginning of time we've rebelled and tempted our Father, like children.

In Genesis chapter 3,  When Adam and Eve ate fruit of the tree of knowledge,  they his from God,  God ask...Hast thou eaten of the tree,  whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?

What was the first thing Adam tried to do.....blame Eve,  when God went to Eve she blamed the serpent.  Even as adults we still do that....don't we.

God still speaks to us today... and we still try to rebel.

You get up Sunday morning thinking....I went to bed late,  think I'll skip Sunday school,  maybe just go to preaching.
I was invited to go out with some friends Sunday morning,  I can go to late service Sunday night.  Say No to God?

Your neighbor was laid off from his job and not able to find work,  their having a hard time making bills on just the wife's check....you've been working overtime,  going to go out and blow it on some new clothes,  and expensive meal,  go to the movies, etc.  Say No to God?

You had a misunderstanding with your brother, haven't spoken to him in so long you cant even remember what it was about.  Call him? Say I'm sorry?  or Say No to God?

There comes a time in life when we all need someone.  From  the beginning...And the Lord God said,  it is not good that man should be alone. (Gen.2:18).  When the Holy Spirit leads you to make the time to go to church,  make  the time to read your Bible, make the time to pray. Say Yes! to God. For one day you'll be the one needing prayer.

When the Holy Spirit leads you to lend your neighbor a helping hand,  give him both!  It might be your job gone someday and your family suffering. Say Yes! to God.

When the Holy Spirit is pulling at your heart to forgive,  to love one another,  step up , be the one to say I'm sorry,  I love you,  it's not worth losing you over.  Say Yes! to God.  Don't let pride keep you from it.
God fills our hearts with love, and compassion,  he guides our emotions.  He never promised there would be no heartache.  He only promised he would bless us and heal us.

Matthew 5:5,8,9
Blessed are the meek,  for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.

Proverbs 3:6,7
Trust in the Lord with All thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In All thy ways acknowledge him,  and he shall direct thy paths.

Say Yes! to God.
Amen
