“In the beginning God created the
heaven and earth” that is found in Genesis 1.1. But what I desire to share
with you is the first three words; “In the Beginning.”
You may not think much about this part of life but
everything that you see, and many that you don’t has a beginning. My
beginning was back in late July of 1953. And you as well have to starting
spot in life. But for hundreds of hundreds of men, women boys and girls
there is a secondary beginning; and that is when they accepted Jesus as Lord
of their life. Mine was back in April of 1982. Can you think back to when
you second birthday was?
Just a little fact here. the word 'beginning' occurs
only 106 times in the entire Bible and of those it is found in only 1-4
verses.
Last month I gave you a missionary trip. For some of
you this was your new beginning of an exciting adventure to see just how
many of you could tell others about our wonderful Lord and Savior. I hope
that each one who took on this task has already told someone and will
continue the rest of the year.
This is your year for new beginnings and they should
beginning with you saying a simple “good Morning” to the Lord even
before your feet hit the ground The very moment you do that I tell you the
enemy will not like you for the rest of the day.
But that's ok because Greater is HE than any thing that
the enemy can or will dish out to you.
For some of you this year will be a new year for a new
job. Or to begin a new aspect of their ministry; perhaps even taking on
speaking engagements. For some who know how to create websites it will be a
chance to upgrade their skills and even their website. There are so many new
things each of us can do. But are we going to do them for our name sake or
the Lords glory?
King Saul had a grand opportunity to be a great King.
He for all reasoning was Israel's very first king. But some where along the
line he got a bit crazy and lost it all. Even to nearly killing his
predecessor by the name of David. And if there was no David where would we
be?
Just for the record, if you please.; The word Beginning
comes from the Hebrew word...
ray-sheeth' it is defined as:
From the same as; the first, in place, time, order or
rank (specifically a firstfruit): - beginning, chief (-est), first (-fruits,
part, time), principal thing.
You my beloved are God’s first fruit. How do i know
this? Lets look at John 15;1-8
John 15:1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the
husbandman.
John 15:2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he
taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may
bring forth more fruit.
John 15:3 Now ye are clean through the word which I
have spoken unto you.
John 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch
cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye,
except ye abide in me.
John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that
abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without
me ye can do nothing.
