Are You Ready?  Part 2

“Then Jesus said to them: “Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom.  There will be great earthquakes, famines and deadly diseases in various places, and fearful events and great signs from Heaven.  But before all this, they will lay hands on you and persecute you.  They will deliver you to synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before Kings and Governors, and all on account of my name.  This will result in your being witnesses to them.  But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves.  For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.  You will be betrayed by parents, brothers, relatives and friends and they will put some of you to death.  All men will hate you because of me.  But not a hair of your head will perish.  By standing firm you will gain life.” Luke 21:10-18

The Signs of the Times, will help you better understand the End Times. The Scriptures reveal that in the Last Days there would be many indicators in the Earth that would point to the soon return of Jesus Christ.
"And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times…"(Isaiah 33:6)

The fact that we are living in the time of the end is evidently brought forth by the times around us. The scripture here let's us know, in order for men to have stability in their times, we must have wisdom and knowledge from God. By having a clear understanding of the times we can better prepare ourselves and have peace in the midst of a world filled with chaos. The Signs of the Times is truly that wisdom and knowledge from God, that brings security and a present hope in God, to know that He is still in control.

"And as He sat upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples came unto Him privately, saying, tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of thy coming, and the end of the World?" (Matthew 24:3,)

The question is asked today, are we living in the last days? The answer to this question I believe is a most definitely yes. This answer comes with strong certainty, based on careful study of God's word, and the events of our times and generation. God has through his prophetic word, forecasted the times in which we live. To the child of God the Times and Seasons shouldn't come as any shock, but rather as an indicator of the soon return of our Lord. But this my friend is not the case, many today, sad to say even in Christian circles stand in fear and awe wondering what is going on. This is a direct result of not being taught prophecy or a fear of studying God's Prophetic word. This problem in the church is not a new one, our Lord dealt with it in His own generation.

"When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near." Luke 21:28

Even though the Signs of the Times reveals some terrible things, and even the beginnings of sorrows, there is still an underlying hope that is the stability and strength for every Christian in these times.

The Apostle Paul received from a revelation from God concerning the last days. He spoke of the last days as a time of peril, or perilous times. This can be found in 2 Timothy 3:1-7

“But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over weak-willed women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth.”

The book of Romans, exhorts us to not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our minds.

Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

We must strive to have the mind of Christ, Christian friend; our walk with Christ has eternal rewards. We cannot afford to be passive on our journey to eternity. Satan is searching for those he can devour. If we allow him to capture us through the lack of knowledge of his strategies then we will be devoured and destroyed. But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (1Corinthains 15:57). If we need to repent, then let us do that and go on from here and not be entangled again with any bondage. Jesus is ever forgiving and desires that none would perish. Ask Him to create a desire in you for hearing His Word and a desire to fellowship with him. Soon you will no longer have an appetite for anything that is unpleasing to God and the only thing that will satisfy your hearts desire is God alone!

I encourage you to pray daily and to allow Jesus to be the Lord of your life and look to Him to guide you into paths of righteousness.

Untitled Hymn (Come To Jesus) – Chris Rice

Weak and wounded sinner
Lost and left to die
O, raise your head, for love is passing by
Come to Jesus
Come to Jesus
Come to Jesus and live!

Now your burden's lifted
And carried far away
And precious blood has washed away the stain, so
Sing to Jesus
Sing to Jesus
Sing to Jesus and live!

And like a newborn baby
Don't be afraid to crawl
And remember when you walk
Sometimes we fall...so
Fall on Jesus
Fall on Jesus
Fall on Jesus and live!

Sometimes the way is lonely
And steep and filled with pain
So if your sky is dark and pours the rain, then
Cry to Jesus
Cry to Jesus
Cry to Jesus and live!

O, and when the love spills over
And music fills the night
And when you can't contain your joy inside, then
Dance for Jesus
Dance for Jesus
Dance for Jesus and live!

And with your final heartbeat
Kiss the world goodbye
Then go in peace, and laugh on Glory's side, and
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus and live!

...We who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them
in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air... 1 Thessalonians 4:17 (NIV)
